Matthew Robonson was originally a left-winger who converted into a left-back of promise.

Considering during his four year Dell career he served under five different managers, it was perhaps no surprise that early promise was not built upon. He went to Pompey for £50,000 and, moving onto Reading and Oxford, by the time he quit the full-time professional scene he had notched up over 300 career appearances. In 2010, Matthew joined the Zamaretto Leagueside, Swindon Supermarine. He was gradually persuaded to take on a managerial role of some kind – though never full-time, as he had by now become a police officer, based in Andover. A new manager arrived at the club in May 2012, so Matthew could now concentrate on policing.
