Having trained with the Saints from the age of eight, Jamie White joined full-time in 2006.

He became a highly-rated forward, with a change of pace and good, two-footed technique.

He was the Academy’s 2006-07 Player-of-the-Year but had to accept the award on crutches, after tearing a cruciate ligament in his left knee, while training with the first team. He recovered to make his senior debut at the start of the 2008-09 season but was soon out on loan at League Two Shrewsbury, following which his League career was on hold, as his next two-and-a-half seasons became a mix of further injuries – a broken leg, a dislocated ankle and a cruciate injury to the other knee – interspersed with a few non-league games, often geared to rehabilitation.

In the summer of 2011, however, he returned from a spell in the Queensland State League in Australia to play some serious non-league football. His 54 goals for Winchester City in 2011-12, as they won the Wessex Premier, left him only one short of that League’s record for a season. Salisbury fancied some of that and Jamie obliged with 26 goals, including the spectacular volley with which the Whites won the Conference South play-offs in 2013. Having duly committed himself to two more seasons with Salisbury, Jamie missed the start of their Conference Premier campaign, thanks to a hernia operation. Next on his itinerary were recently-relegated-to-the Conference, Bristol Rovers, managed by Darrell White, his ex-Salisbury manager but there now followed a period where he failed to stay long at any club including a second stint at Steve Claridge’s Salisbury. He has spent his last two seasons playing in the Hampshire Premier League with Infinity.
