While with his home-town club, Cowes, Frank Moore (later changed to Moores) played a major part in their promotion to the Southern League in 1899 as well as becoming their captain. He then featured in all of the 13 matches that Cowes played in that League, before they withdrew from it in the December. Portsmouth offered him the opportunity to remain in the Southern League but, after two games at outside-left in the second half of that season, he joined Southampton. He couldn’t break into their Southern League side at all and so had to be content, in 1900-01, with being an ever-present in the Hampshire League side while having a solitary run-out in the Western League.

After which, he went back to Cowes, to finish his footballing career and in 1905 to become the licensed victualler of the Crown Inn. He was an accomplished all rounder at cricket, winning the Isle of Wight Championship with Northwood twice and also possessed a fine tenor voice according to a newspaper report written at the time of his wedding in 1903. Later he became a newsagent. His date of death is unknown but he was not alive in 1952 which is when his wife, Blanche, passed away.
