A tall, left-sided wing-back, Duncan Spedding was momentarily given the chance to shine in David Jones’s first season as a manager, but didn’t make a lasting impression. He had better luck at Northampton, where he spent five years before being released in 2003. He now became, in turn, the general manager of a Health-and-Fitness club in Northampton and then a co-director of Serious about Fitness, a personal-training business in nearby Wootton.
