A French-born defender of Cameroonian descent, Allan Tchapchet signed his first professional contract with Saints in December 2018, a few months after arriving from Auxerre. His big moment came at Old Trafford when he was brought on from the bench, but it was a night that had already gone badly wrong for Southampton. Down to 10 men after just two minutes they were 7-0 down by the time Allan was sent on by Ralph Hasenhuttl. Saints conceded two more goals while he was on the pitch and a game to remember for him had become one to forget for the club.

His contract ran out in the following summer and an agreement for a new one could not be agreed by both parties, so he was without a club for a while until Grenoble, a second-tier club, gave him a deal at the beginning of 2022.
