Ryan Doble joined Southampton at the age of eight and became a Wales U-21 international. Yet his competitive career with the club consisted of just 58 minutes of Cup football, before another debutant, Sam Hoskins, substituted for him. When his contract came to an end, six months later, Ryan joined League One Shrewsbury. He hardly played and was released in the summer of 2013. After a trial at Newport, newly returned to the League, he rejected the offer of a month-to-month contract only to end up at Telford which turned out to be his last professional club as he took up the role of PE teacher at Bassaleg Comprehensive near Newport.
