After a couple of months in the Reserves, Charlie Jenkins had a senior outing at full-back in a Southern Charity Cup-tie replay. He was given the run-around in a 4-1 defeat at Brighton and never made the first team again. He left at the end of the season. In 1939 he was a life assurance agent.
