Spotted in County Durham football, Tom Sloan had but a fleeting career with Second Division Southampton. He made his first-team debut just three days after being registered, replacing the injured Bert Jepson on the right wing in a 2-1 home defeat. Following five further appearances, all for the Reserves, he returned, a month later, to north-eastern football. His death date is unknown.
