Ryan Seager started at Southampton’s Academy aged only eight and broke into the first team early in 2015 with a couple of appearances from the bench. He then scored one of the goals as Southampton U21s beat Blackburn 2-1 to lift the Premier League Cup (see below), before he was sent out on a month’s loan to Crewe. He started well at Gresty Road but suffered a ruptured ligament injury which side-lined him for 11 months. Rehabilitating, he went on further loans including a spell in Holland’s second tier but when he joined his home town club in January 2019, Yeovil for a second time it was a permanent move, although it wasn’t long until further loans materialised. In the close season of 2020 he signed for Hungerford permanently on a two-year deal and then, following a prolific 21-22 season during which he scored 27 league goals, he joined Dorking Wanderers, newly promoted to the the National League.
