Having crossed the border in 1900, Andrew Davidson then spent nine seasons in the Football League, with three different clubs, before he arrived at The Dell. Although reputed to be a quick center-half, 31-year-old Andrew struggled for pace. His neat distribution was no compensation for his lack of speed and he promptly returned to Grimsby.
