By the time Fred Frampton joined St Mary’s in 1893, the first team – three times winners of the Hants Junior Cup – had bigger Cup-fish to fry and the Junior Cup was being left to the Reserves. A busy half-back in the side that won that Cup in 1894, Fred Frampton managed to make one appearance in the senior side, in that season’s semi-final replay of the County Cricket Cup. He later worked as a painter at the Northam Iron Works. During WW1 he was a fitters mate in The Docks but by 1921 was out of work.
