Kyle Walker-Peters, an attacking full-back, had a taste of Champions League football whilst a Spurs player. He started a match in the Nou Camp against Barcelona and an error led to the home side taking the lead. Showing impressive maturity he put that early setback aside, to produce a good overall perfomance as Spurs drew 1-1 and qualified for the knockout stage. Unable to hold down a regular starting place at White Hart Lane, he chose to come to St Mary’s, initially on loan, but when that went well, he joined permanently for a fee said to be £12m.

A crowd favourite right from the beginning, he loved to overlap and was often a source of many chances cutting in from the right. When Saints signed Tino Livramento in August 2021 Kyle showed his adaptability by switching to the left, during parts of the season. When Saints won promotion back to the Premier League in 2024 he won a place in the PFA Championship Team of Year. Refusing overtures from the club to sign a new contract, he decided to run his contract down and consequently left on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.

In 2022 he was capped twice by England.
