Goalkeeper, Harry Lewis had yet to feature in Shrewsbury’s first team when Southampton decided to spend a figure rumoured to be approaching six figures to bring him to St Mary’s, aged just 17. He was the grandson of ex-Manchester City, Stockport County and Shrewsbury goalkeeper, Ken Mulhearn and so high hopes were placed on his young shoulders. However, it was not to work out for the youngster as he never made Saints Premier League team with his only appearances coming in three games in the FA Cup during 2016-17. He followed this with 30 League outings with Dundee United in the Scottish Championship during a year on loan and at the end of his contract ex-Saints manager Mark Hughes took him to Bradford City on a two-year deal. Hughes described his new signing as “an exceptional goalkeeper who has very strong distribution with his feet”.
